What Makes This Room Unique

Old House is MAZE’s most distinctive offering: a Script Murder (Ju Ben Sha / 剧本杀) live-action role-playing murder mystery, a format highly popular in China and growing rapidly in Malaysia. This is not a traditional escape room. Each of the six players receives a unique character with their own backstory, relationships, secrets, and objectives. One player may be the murderer. All must act in character, interrogate each other, and navigate complex inter-character relationships to either solve or conceal the murder across 150 minutes.

At 5/5 difficulty, 150 minutes, and MYR 158/person, Old House is MAZE’s most demanding experience across all dimensions: intellectual (deductive reasoning), social (character performance and interrogation), and temporal (the longest session offered). The strictly Chinese-only format reflects the experience’s roots in Chinese-language narrative gaming and cannot be meaningfully translated. This is one of the most genuinely unusual escape-adjacent formats available in Malaysia.
