Story
You may not know Sun Wukong, but everyone knows Zhu Bajie. The story is set 800 years after the legendary Journey to the West quest concluded — and ‘Bajie,’ having recovered his handsome appearance, has become a bona fide internet celebrity. His follower counts rival the number of steps taken on the original pilgrimage. His social media presence spans every platform.
As debt collectors, you receive a surprising assignment: collect a debt from internet sensation Zhu Bajie. He borrowed money? What is going on? Rumour has it that Bajie’s home conceals a priceless treasure — finding it could change your lives. With debt collection as your cover story and curiosity as your real motivation, you venture to the viral celebrity’s home to find the legendary treasure.
What Makes This Room Unique
Bajie is LOST in JB’s most overtly comedic and culturally playful room — blending ancient Chinese mythology with internet celebrity culture in a mashup that is genuinely original. The premise of Zhu Bajie as a social media influencer 800 years after his quest is absurdist and funny, and the treasure-hunt framing is lighter in tone than any other room in the network. At RM68/adult, it is the most affordable option at Eco Palladium. The 2-6 player cap (smaller than other rooms’ 2-8) makes it ideal for smaller groups. Reviews highlight it as ‘challenging and fun with excellent reviews,’ though some note the mechanisms can be temperamental.
Ideal For
- Fans of Journey to the West / Chinese mythology and internet culture
- Smaller groups (2-4) wanting a lighter-toned, affordable experience
- Families wanting mythology-based adventure without dark themes
- Players completing all 6 Eco Palladium rooms — this makes an ideal final, palate-cleansing room
Player Tips
- Familiarity with Zhu Bajie mythology adds context but is not required
- The debt-collector framing is comic — lean into the absurdity as part of the experience
- Best for smaller groups (2-4); the 6-player cap is firm, so plan group size accordingly
- If mechanisms seem unresponsive, flag to game master early — reviewers note occasional technical issues.
