Story
You are Blanche, a child who grew up in an orphanage where nobody believed you when you spoke of a strange white mist only you could see surrounding you. Shortly after your 11th birthday, an acceptance letter arrives addressed to you from Atlantis Academy of Magic. You dismiss it as a prank. But at midnight that same night, a strange sound emanates from your wardrobe. You cannot resist opening the door — and your world changes forever. The academy is real. The magic is real. And the crisis facing Atlantis Academy is about to become yours to solve.
What Makes This Room Unique
The Wizard Crisis is Enigma Escape JB’s cleanest family-friendly fantasy offering. Its 70-minute duration sits between the 60-minute investigation rooms and the 90-minute horror rooms, providing an intermediate experience length. The narrative is deliberately crafted in the tradition of coming-of-age magical discovery — the orphan protagonist, the unexpected acceptance letter, the midnight portal — invoking broadly familiar magical-academy storytelling without being a direct IP recreation.
The Atlantis Academy of Magic setting gives the designers latitude to build an original world with unique magical mechanics, rather than adhering to a pre-existing franchise’s rules. This makes it one of the more creatively unconstrained rooms at Enigma Escape JB. The morty.app ‘Mixed’ rating (based on very few ratings) should be treated with caution given the small sample size.
Within the JB escape room landscape, The Wizard Crisis occupies a comparable space to Enigma’s Museum Caper: a non-horror, accessible, family-friendly experience that does not rely on live-scare mechanics. It pairs naturally with Masterpiece Heist as a same-day double-booking option for groups with mixed scare tolerances.
Ideal For
- Families with children aged 10 and above wanting a non-horror magical adventure
- Harry Potter / magical academy fans seeking a new original wizarding world experience
- Groups wanting a 70-minute room without horror elements or NPC scare actors
- First-time escape room players looking for a story-rich, accessible entry-level experience
Player Tips
- Lean into the roleplay: you are Blanche, a newly discovered wizard — treating the story seriously enhances the puzzle experience
- The 70-minute duration is longer than a standard escape room — pace yourselves and resist rushing through areas too quickly
- Pairs well with Masterpiece Heist for a same-day visit to Eco Palladium Block A
