Immersive Story
To pray for favorable weather, bountiful harvests, and a prosperous and happy life, puppet shows were created. Each puppet has its own soul. On a stormy day, in the poor three-room house of an artisan, where the sound of wood carving mingled with harsh curses and the smell of alcohol, a tragedy occurred and gradually faded into oblivion. This year, another stormy season has arrived, and unexplained disappearances begin to appear in the region. Are these inanimate puppets truly controlled by strings? Or are there restless souls pulling the curtain down on a bloody performance?
What Makes This Unique
Huyết Mộc Nhân appears to be Spirit Escape’s newest room. The wooden effigy concept is distinctly Vietnamese, drawing on authentic folk magic traditions rather than generic voodoo or Western occult imagery.
Vietnamese wooden effigies (mộc nhân) historically served protective, commemorative, or ritualistic purposes in temples, shrines, and family altars. The “blood crimson” corruption of these traditionally benign objects creates horror through inversion of cultural comfort—what should protect instead threatens.
The theme allows exploration of Vietnamese shamanic practices, folk medicine, superstitious beliefs, and village magic—cultural elements deeply embedded in Vietnamese identity but often dismissed by modern urban dwellers. Spirit Escape’s Vietnamese design team can leverage authentic cultural knowledge to create puzzles and scares that resonate specifically with local audiences while offering international visitors unique cultural insight.
